Something You Should Know

  Something you should know is as a kid I took swim lessons. I learned to jump in the water, hold my breath, to tread water, and to of course, swim. I watched my classmates grow into strong and powerful swimmers and learn to swim the length of the pool. To me, the pool was an abyss, and I feared that if I were to ever put my head in the water it would swallow me whole. Perhaps that is when I started to fear the unknown. I didn’t know what would happen if I put my head underwater, and even now in life, I fear the unknown. I’m afraid of what I can’t see in the water.

2021 in 3 Words

  2021 is only a little over a month old, but it has been a crazy month. We’ve already had some historic events with the January 7th terrorist attack, a president sworn in, the Reddit attack on Wall Street, and of course, the COVID-19 issues carried over from 2020. To describe this year so far in three words or phases is difficult, but I’m going to try. Fresh start. I know, I know, that’s technically two words. We’re just going to look past that, however. 2020 was definitely the strangest year I’ve lived through in my eighteen years on this Earth. Now in 2021, it’s a chance to start fresh again. Last year was very difficult, and while the literal difference between December 31st, 2020 and January 1st, 2021 is minimal, the mental difference is significant. It’s a new year. It’s a new chance to work on ourselves, learn something new, and meet new people. It’s a fresh start to bounce back from anything 2020 gave us.  Transition.
